Dear Jesus,
We pray for our friends who have received or are preparing to receive their First Holy Communion.
May their hearts be filled with Your love and joy as they welcome You in a special way.
Help them to always feel Your presence, guiding them and bringing them closer to You.
Bless their families and teachers who have helped them on this journey of faith.
May this sacred moment be the start of a lifelong friendship with You.
We ask this in Your holy name.
Amen.
Dear Parents and Carers
It is the time of year as we are ready to enter Spring, for us to call on our entire learning community to fill out a brief up to 10 minute survey. Research shows surveys ensure all stakeholders are heard and contribute to a better educational environment. For staff, these surveys support identifying training needs, improving the curriculum, enhancing the work environment and shaping school policies. For students these surveys support measuring engagement, monitoring well-being and safety, refining teaching methods and empowering student voices. For parents and carers these surveys support increasing involvement, improving communication, addressing satisfaction and concerns and informing school policies.
The overall benefits inform decision-making, support continuous improvement, build community and foster transparency and trust.
We are requesting less than 10 minutes of your time to complete the MACSSIS surveys. These surveys bring clarity to how well the school is meeting the needs of the children, parents and staff as well as providing insights as to the areas for improvement moving forward. We really value this data and last year we only had 47 families out of approximately 393 families fill it in. Please look out for an email from Paul Anderson and read his piece below and respond to the email you will receive. Each survey is anonymous and has a unique pin for your family. The window officially opens on 2nd September and will close 18 September.
Father Darien: We have been fortunate to have Fr Darien return to celebrate First Eucharist with our Year 4 students. On behalf of our whole Catholic Learning Community we say a final thank you and present Darien with this "grateful hearts" gift to commemorate his time with us. Berkat (Blessings) Fr Darien.
First Eucharist: We have our Year 4 students celebrating their First Eucharist, with 2 groups on the weekend just gone and the final one Sunday. The Eucharist nourishes us in many important ways including the following 4 ways. Spiritual Nourishment: bringing us closer to Jesus, Physical Reminder: of Jesus’ sacrifice and love for us, Community Connection: When we receive the Eucharist, we join together as one Church family. This helps us feel connected to each other. Inspiration to Live Well: The Eucharist encourages us to live like Jesus, showing love and kindness in our daily lives, and following Jesus' commandment "Love One Another As I Have Loved You." In these ways, the Eucharist nourishes our whole being; spirit, body, and community, helping us to live a life of faith and love.
Many thanks to Fr Darien, Rebecca Nancarrow and the Year 4 staff team who prepared our students so beautifully. Congratulations and best wishes to the following students who have already or will receive their First Eucharist this Sunday.

Family School Improvement Survey
Dear Parents/Carers
In 2024, our school is participating in Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools – School Improvement Surveys (MACSSIS). MACSSIS is an annual process whereby schools listen to the thoughts and feelings that students, families and staff have about how their school can improve. These surveys help inform the ongoing improvement of schools across the Archdiocese of Melbourne.
One of the main goals of the family survey is to identify the strengths and areas for improvement in our school. MACSSIS data benefits everyone within our school and provides valuable community insights on areas that each school can focus on. Our school believes it is important to encourage families to have a voice and contribute to shaping the ongoing improvement of the school.
The survey is available online, can be accessed from Monday 2 September and needs to be completed by Friday 20 September 2024. This survey may only be completed once.
Kind regards
Paul Anderson
