Student Wellbeing
As part of our ongoing commitment to Respectful Relationships and the Barown Month of Action, Our Lady Star of the Sea will hold our annual Respect Day on Friday November 5th. The theme for this year will be Inclusion.
At Our Lady Star Of The Sea, Respectful Relationships is about embedding a culture of respect and equality across our entire community. During Term 4, the children will be focusing on the topics of Gender and Identity and Positive Gender Relations during their Circle Time each week. These conversations will encourage the children to hopefully challenge gender stereotypes and create environments that are inclusive.
Everyone in our community deserves to be respected, valued and treated equally. Together we can lead the way to creating genuine and lasting change so that every child has an opportunity to achieve their full potential.
Due to COVID, this year's Respect Day will be a little different. Unfortunately we will not be able to have guest speaker's from diverse backgrounds or come together as a whole school as we had hoped.
Our Respect Day will start with an online assembly for students hosted by Year 1AM. All classes will take part in a Respectful Relationships Circle time in their classroom. Students will also contribute to an Inclusive Peace Train display in each hub.
We will be sure to share photos in our newsletter of this celebration.
