Art News
Last term our grade 5 and 6 students worked on portraiture and many of the students chose to enter their final portrait into the Geelong Gallery Who's Who's portrait prize. JF Archibald, the man behind Australia’s famous art awards, was born in Geelong. The annual Who’s who portrait prize commemorates this special connection by encouraging students to celebrate local identities through portraiture.
A whopping 27 of our students were shortlisted for the award (more than any other school) Sadly we didn't have the winning entry but they are all up for the People's Choice Award. The Gallery also chose 3 of our paintings of the 6 for their website banner. So congratulations to Xavier K, Molly A and Darcey M.
Can you please follow this link and vote for one of our students' work.
When you click on the artwork you will see a brief description of the sitter. There are some portraits of our staff so worth checking out.
Thanks for your support.
