From the Principal
Dear Parents and Carers
I hope your fortnight has gone well. We certainly have enjoyed having all our students back onsite in some capacity and look forward to Friday when every year level is back onsite.
Today’s reflection sees us praying for our teachers. Our Lady Star of the Sea school is so blessed to have passionate teachers who place the student at the centre of all learning, value positive relationships with all in the community and collaborate so well with each other in the great team structure we have at Our Lady Star of the Sea. More than ever teachers are valued and appreciated and certainly the flexibility, creativity and care of all students, whether remotely or onsite, has been exceptional.
Congratulations and thank you to all our teachers on your amazing work and care of our students particularly over the last couple of years. You continue to do an amazing job and with wonderful positivity and a smile on your face. We truly value you. We will be sure to celebrate and recognise you further on World Teacher’s Day in Australia on Friday 29 October.
MACSIS Surveys:
Our school is going to undertake a School Review in Term 1 2022. Each year we invite parents to complete a survey whereby the data helps inform our School Improvement Plan and Annual Action Plans. This perception data is very important to us. It helps ensure Our Lady Star of the Sea is delivering the best education spiritually, academically, physically, socially and emotionally to our students. Your voice is valued. Thank you to the families who have already taken the time to fill in the MACSIS survey which takes 15 minutes. You will see the link to this in your email. It would be greatly appreciated if you haven’t already, to please take the time to complete the survey.
Warning re The Squid Game:
Please be aware that this show on Netflix is not appropriate for school aged children. You may hear your child speak about it however it has disturbing and violent content and images. Here is an article from The Age for those of you who may not be aware of this information. https://www.theage.com.au/education/children-as-young-as-six-mimicking-squid-game-in-playground-school-warns-20211014-p58zxx.html
