Anzac Day marks the day that Australian and New Zealand

soldiers landed at Gallipoli during the First World War.

Although it was a great defeat with great loss of life, it has become

synonymous with courage, self-sacrifice, endurance and mateship.

On this day we remember not only the Anzacs but also

all those who have served in other wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations.

On this day we remember those who have been prepared to give of themselves to keep peace for all of us. 

God of love and liberty, we bring our thanks for the peace and security we enjoy,

which was won for us through the courage and devotion of those who gave their lives in time of war.

We pray that their labour and sacrifice may not be in vain, but that their spirit may live on in us and in generations to come.

We pray that the liberty, truth and justice which they sought to preserve may be seen and known in all the nations upon earth. 

May we remember in kind and prayer those who gave unconditionally for the peace and security we experience in our land, Australia.

In our current climate, we pray for all who are working to protect the health of all the Australian community

most especially our Health Care workers and those working in essential services.

This we pray in the name of the one who gave his life for the sake of the world, Jesus Christ our Lord.
