Character Strengths
Over the last few weeks our Year 5 students have been preparing for taking on a greater leadership role as they transition into Year 6 for 2020. This has included preparation for becoming a buddy for their Prep companion, reflecting on what sort of leaders they want to be and exploring their Character Strengths.
Character Strengths are the positive parts of your personality that impact how you think, feel and behave and are the keys to you being your best self, and the things you might want to work on. Character Strengths are not about things that you are good at - although knowing your strengths may help you recognise the things that you are likely to be good at. Everyone possesses all 24 character strengths in different degrees, so each person has a truly unique character profile. These strengths are the key to you being your best self.
Students completed a survey to help further identify their own character strengths. We look forward to seeing how our Year 6 2020 students use their character strengths to be their best learners and leaders.
Further information on Character Strengths can be found at http://www.viacharacter.org You can also take the free questionnaire to find out your own character strengths.
Wishing all families a safe and merry Christmas. Enjoy the special time with your families over the holidays.
Looking forward to 2020!
