Respectful Relationships - Connecting Our Community Day
This year Our Lady Star of the Sea will be holding our annual Respectful Relationships Day as part of Barwon Month of Action against Domestic Violence. This day will be held this Friday 11 October. The focus of the day will be Connecting Our Community, Make A Connection to Someone New!
Parents are invited to attend a cuppa and a chat in the staff room after assembly. This session will focus on making connections across our school community. Come along and meet someone new.
Students will participate in a Circle Time and consider what they value most about friendship and ways that they can connect with new people to create new relationships. After recess, parents are invited to watch their students participate in our annual Tabloid Sport Respect Games. Connecting Our Community - Family Homework Activity
Families are invited to reflect with their children about the things they most value about being connected to others through a community of friendship. You are invited to decorate a leaf or leaves with a word that helps to capture what you or your children value most about community. For Example: uniqueness, talents, memories, trust, laughter, cooperation, forgiveness, teamwork etc. Your child’s leaf will then be added to our whole school Connecting Our Community Display in the school administration foyer. Individual leaves can be returned to your class teacher or placed in the foyer collection box to be added to the display throughout this week.
Your child will be bringing home a leaf tonight as part of this week’s homework.
