From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers

What a wonderful Term 2 we've had. It's been incredibly rewarding to witness so many successes, big and small, across our school community. From engaging classroom learning and exciting excursions to impressive sporting achievements and heartwarming community events, our students have truly shone and I thank you all for your incredible support and dedication.

We hope you enjoyed your 3 way conversations last week and took a moment to really engage in the education space with your child(ren) and celebrate their achievements. The future learning part of the report should also support you further to engage in learning within the home. Remember Hub news also has great ideas for learning and educational games you can play together.

Thank you to the teaching and support staff who work so tirelessly to support your child's educational journey and the passion and care they show. So grateful for this team each day and all the wonderful students you entrust us with.

Like you, I recently had the opportunity to celebrate  a big moment in my son, Jack's learning journey. We had a proud family moment last week which included the grandmothers, when we attended Jack's graduation ceremony acknowledging his Bachelor of Education in Secondary school teaching. It seems like yesterday we were attending his 3 way interviews. Each moment is so important to celebrate. We all know learning brings hope, no matter what path our children choose. Your part in your child's learning journey has such a positive impact in their outcomes and as a staff we truly thank you for your ongoing support to your children and the school staff as a whole. It takes a village to support all our children and we continue to enjoy and commit fully to the academic, social, emotional and spiritual development of your child as they continue on their educational journey.

Talent show: What a great end of term lunchtime activity the Year 6 Performing Arts Leaders led. We have a lot of talent in our school and it was on display again last Thursday. Congratulations to all.

Royston Kelly, Alexander Farr and Charlie Binns Saxby.

Indonesian Day: Last Friday the students and teachers participated in variety of cultural activities to celebrate Indonesian Day including dancing, games, cooking and craft.

As the term draws to a close, I wanted to let you know that I'll be taking long service leave for the final week of this term and the first two weeks of  Term Three. For the first time ever, I'll be embarking on an exciting adventure to Italy and it will also be my first time to Europe. I'm looking forward to exploring new cultures and recharging with a group of my siblings, nephew, niece and son Jack.  I look forward to returning in the third week of Term 3, feeling refreshed and ready for an even bigger Term 3.

During my absence, Paul Anderson will be the Acting Principal and Marianne Caddy will be the Acting Deputy Principal. I know they will do an outstanding job leading our school.

In the meantime, I wish all our students, families and staff a very relaxing and well-deserved break.

Enjoy the holidays, stay safe and I look forward to seeing you all back for Term 3.

Take care

Kerryn
