Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven,
We are talking to God, who is like a loving parent, and who lives in heaven.
Hallowed be thy name.
We are saying that God's name is very special and holy.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
We want the world to be as good and kind as heaven, and we want to do what God wants us to do.
Give us this day our daily bread.
We are asking God to give us what we need every day, like food and other things we need to live.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
We are asking God to forgive us when we do something wrong, and we promise to forgive others who do wrong to us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
We are asking God to help us make good choices and to keep us safe from harm and bad things.
Amen.
This means "I believe" or "I agree," and it's how we end our prayer.
