From the Principal
Dear Parents,
It was wonderful to see the efforts of the whole school community for walk and ride to school day on Friday. We all understand the importance of an active lifestyle for healthy minds and bodies and it is essential our children are aware of this also. Active travel also complements our sustainability practices.
This week we are requesting your thoughts in regards to potentially sending the newsletter out fortnightly instead of weekly.
In consultation with you , there are various reasons for why we are considering this option.
Firstly, whilst the newsletter is our first port of call for communication the amount of time and resources it actually takes to organise the weekly newsletter is significant. We believe preparing and sending it out fortnightly will be a more efficient use of time and resources. Secondly, we plan ahead within an educational setting and can be organised for upcoming news and events fortnightly rather than weekly. Teachers also have their whole day of planning together fortnightly. Thirdly, should something be missed on the newsletter we have the option of Group email or Care Monkey for extra, easy communication. Naturally we would endeavour to have everything in the fortnightly newsletter. We are also able to communicate via SeeSaw, Parent facebook and the school app if you need further reminders. The newsletter will always be there to access and check over the fortnight. Fourthly, Care Monkey allows us to send permission slips out any day of the week, not only on a Monday.
Naturally as the newsletter is ultimately for you as parents and your children, we will survey for your opinions and collaborate with a consensus before making a final decision going into Term 2.
