Term 4 week 5
Dear Parents and Carers
Last week we celebrated World Teacher’s Day. On this day, we acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding work of our teachers and in line with the MACS vision, the work they do in forming lives of faith, hope and love whilst inspiring and enabling our students to flourish and enrich the world.
I personally would like to thank our teachers for the respect, nurture and engagement they provide each day in their dedication, passion and commitment to our students and families of Our Lady Star of the Sea. I am incredibly proud of the exceptional contributions that each teacher makes.
As a community and, in a joyful way, we acknowledged our wonderful teachers at assembly with character strength awards which the students wrote and presented. All our students really enjoyed this opportunity to celebrate their amazing teachers, as did the teachers.
Mission Fete: Our Mission Fete is fast approaching. At Our Lady Star of the Sea, we believe that faith is not just a personal journey, but a call to mission. As parents, you play a vital role in nurturing your child's spirituality, and we are here to support. Nurturing Hearts and Minds In the spirit of our Catholic faith, we strive to instill in our children the values of compassion, love, and service to others. We aim to nurture their hearts and minds, helping them grow into faithful and compassionate individuals who are ready to take on the world with a spirit of mission.
Mission Fete is one such way we provide this in action each year. Many thanks for your support in this significant call to action. Please read your hub news for further details for the day.
ARTS Trail: A very busy week next week also sees our wonderful ARTS trail coming to life. The students, with wonderful facilitation from their teachers, have been enhancing their creativity and bringing their talents to the fore over the past weeks. Rachael Thomas has led this so magnificently and we look forward to the ARTS being in the spotlight for the night. You are welcome to come along anytime between 4-7 pm and stay for your own picnic dinner or buy from the food van if you wish. Please note, your children are under your supervision and care for the time you are at the Arts Trail. They cannot independently come along without an adult We are very proud of the students' efforts in this space as they showcase their creative art pieces.
Master plan: Recently, we have applied for a State government grant. Each year we apply for both Federal and State Government grants. Through the recent process of updating our masterplan the priority works identified for Stage 1 are as follows:
